Nature Scavenger Hunt for Kids

With so many of my family’s favorite hangout spots closed, we’ve been spending a ton of time exploring nature together! We’re fortunate to have a pond full of geese close to our home that we frequently walk over to for a visit.

One activity that makes our time outdoors especially exciting is a nature scavenger hunt! It’s the perfect way to encourage my children to examine all of the wonders you can find outside!

The first item you need on a nature scavenger hunt is a fun, portable snack! For this, we have our delicious Stonyfield Organic Kids Strawberry Banana yogurt pouches. They’re so convenient to stick in my backpack before we leave the house and the kids can easily eat them anywhere.

Stonyfield Organic has pouches, smoothies, cups, and tubes in a variety of flavors. They’re all good sources of calcium and are awesome ways for your little ones to snack on-the-go!

In addition to being handy and great tasting, this mommy can appreciate the quality and care that goes into every Stonyfield product. Their pouches are USDA Organic and Non-GMO Project verified. They’re also made without any preservatives, artificial flavors, artificial colors, or toxic persistent pesticides. It’s almost too good to be true!

The second item we take to the pond with us is our nature scavenger hunt printout! It’s a visual list of simple objects that can usually be located near our pond. Since it uses words as well as pictures, my girls can keep track of the different things they find all by themselves. Playing in nature is so important and this is a fun opportunity to investigate even more closely!

I actually printed our scavenger hunt out and laminated it so that it’s more durable. We cross off the objects we find with a dry erase marker and then wipe it off to use again and again!

This is the perfect activity for families who are schooling from home and want to take a snack break in the fresh air. We just started virtual learning and I envision many scavenger hunts with yogurt pouches in tow.

One thing that I learned about recently is the StonyFIELDS #playfree Initiative. I’ve always admired well-kept parks and fields, but I never stopped to think about the harmful pesticides and chemicals used to maintain them. Not to mention, our children are interacting with these chemicals and even tracking them into our homes.

In addition to providing organic food, Stonyfield® Organic is using this initiative to advocate for organic fields and yards. They’re helping families and communities across the country take necessary steps to end the use of harmful pesticides, particularly in our yards and public play spaces. I’ve been a fan of Stonyfield’s products, but this mission makes me love them even more!

Thank you again to Stonyfield® Organic for sponsoring our nature scavenger hunt! Stonyfield Organic helps make our time outdoors convenient, yummy, and memorable! Whether you’re planning a home school adventure or backyard playtime, don’t forget to add Stonyfield Organic Kids pouches to your next grocery list!
