3-Ingredient Homemade Bubble Recipe

The Cinnamon Mom, stay at home mom blogger

Hi there! I’m so excited for you to try this homemade bubble recipe! Bubbles are a magical way to play, but with how quickly kids use or spill them, constantly buying plastic bottles of soapy solutions can become wasteful. Making your own bubbles is a cost-effective, eco-friendly method to make sure the fun never stops!

I was looking for a kid-friendly recipe when I came across Melody Yang, who is a well-known bubble artist. She recently became a mommy so her life has changed directions a bit, but there’s tons of footage on Youtube of her performing her amazing bubble tricks on stages around the world. I can’t think of anyone better to learn about bubbles from!

You just need three simple ingredients for Melody’s recipe (water, sugar, and liquid dish soap) and the bubbles come out awesome. They’re sticky so you can catch them, they float for a long time, and it’s quick to stir up a new batch when you need it!

3-Ingredient Homemade Bubble Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1 cup room temperature water
  • 1/2 cup liquid dish soap

Instructions

  1. Make a simple syrup by stirring the sugar into the hot water. Be sure that all of the sugar is completely dissolved.
  2. Add the room temperature water and dish soap to your simple syrup.
  3. Stir everything well, being careful not to make any suds.
  4. Play!

I poured our solution into a glass jar and my kids are reusing bubble wands from an old purchase, but you can use any tools you like to play. You can make bubbles with your hands, pour the solution into a bubble machine, or get a set of bubble wands. Amazon has everything from a 3-piece set of wands to a 26-piece set if you’re entertaining a crowd!
