If You Haven’t Tried Instacart, You Should

The Cinnamon Mom

I might be a little late to the party, but I just tried Instacart and I’m in love! It’s a new-ish grocery delivery service and it’s already making my life one million times easier!

Here are the top 5 reasons I’m hooked on Instacart:

1. Can You Say “Sweatpants”?

Some days it’s hard enough taking a shower and putting on clean clothes. When I use Instacart, I don’t have to worry about dressing anybody, doing hair, or getting kids in and out of car seats.

On this particular day, we were down to one orange and a handful of Cheerios. I was feeling not awesome and both girls were taking a nap (because we’re still recovering from Daylight Saving and can hardly tell up from down). There was no way were leaving the house. Thankfully, I was able to find everything we needed on the Instacart app and we had groceries in about an hour!

2. Shop from Your Regular Selection

So I used to be a huge fan of Amazon Prime Now for groceries, but my biggest beef with them is that I didn’t have access to everything I wanted. Or if they had something, it was only available in weird quantities or unfamiliar brands.

I love that Instacart allows you to shop at any major store in your area and buy the brands that you prefer. We frequent Aldi so I know exactly what items I like and I’m able to order all of them.

 3. Live Interaction with Your Shopper

Instacart gives you a name and photo of the person who will be handling your delivery and where they are in the process. And if something is out of stock, you get an instant notification from your shopper with the replacement item they chose. Via the app, you can chat directly with your shopper and even add or remove items from your list. Which is great if you’re like me and remember things at the last second!

4. Choose Your Delivery Time

You get to decide what day and what time you want your groceries to be dropped off! Maybe you need food immediately or perhaps you want it to come later in the week. On the app, just schedule a window of time that is convenient for you and Instacart will have it delivered then!

5. You Can Save $10

As a thank you, Instacart is giving all of my friends $10 off their first purchase! Just click this link: Save $10 or enter this code at checkout: TTICER143125. Super easy, right?

Happy Shopping!

  1. I love Instacart! It’s definitely super convenient, honestly it sounds like it would even be fun to work for haha! I might have to look into it cause I love shopping lol

  2. What? This sounds so helpful for any busy person! The Instacart service is like having a specific, reliable shopping assistant that brings you what you need, when you need it – to your doorstep! Thanks for the incentive! Love it 💕 xo, Evelyn, PathofPresence.com

  3. I haven’t tired this service before and this is my first time hearing about it. I could use this though…one less thing I have to do!

    1. It is so fantastic, Monica! Especially on the days when my to-do list is a mile long. Hope you’re able to try it soon!

  4. I wish we had this here :(. I haven’t even gotten to try the amazon one yet. It sounds so amazing, I honestly despise grocery shopping! If I never had to do it again I’d be fine. So glad you got to try something that was helpful!

    1. Agreed, Tifanee! Grocery shopping, specifically with kids, can be an ordeal. Maybe Instacart will be in your area soon!

  5. I live in Beijing. I don’t believe we have Instacart but there are quite a few other companies that deliver groceries. As a pregnant mother of two toddlers these services make life so much easier. Especially if I’m purchasing heavy items. Thanks for taking the time to put this useful post together.

    1. And thank you for taking the time to read! I can imagine the difficulty of being pregnant and having two little ones. So happy that you have an alternative in Beijing!

  6. This sounds awesome. I don’t think it is available in my area yet. But, my local grocery store has their own version of it, which I have taken advantage of, especially when not feeling well.

    1. That’s great, Pamela! I don’t think any of our grocery stores individually offer delivery so you’re lucky to have that!

  7. This sounds like such a cool resource! I haven’t ever tried it, but just might have to. It would be a great idea for those last-minute items you forgot to buy at the grocery store so you wouldn’t have to go back. It’s also cool that they can bring it right to your door step. This would be a wonderful way to get multiple things done at once–let the kids nap and get your groceries delivered. Definitely a win-win!

    1. I’d be impressed if it’s made it to Australia! Maybe you have similar services. Or maybe just a more pleasant grocery shopping experience than in the US!

    1. What would be your reasons for not wanting to use it, Samantha? I’ve had extremely positive experiences so far and you can’t beat the convenience!
