Ever since I wrote my meal planning post, I’ve been meaning to share a one-week meal plan with you guys. I am obsessed with meal planning and I’m hoping you’ll see how easy and helpful it can be for your family.
See why we got started with meal planning!
First, I would like to make it clear that I am not a foodie or health nut. There are no dietary restrictions or allergies in our home. We eat all the things. I am also not a gourmet chef. My goal is to feed my family delicious meals that are nourishing, fresh from my kitchen, and SIMPLE to make.
When we meal plan, the focus is on dinner. I’ll choose a few meals to cook at night and then I’ll always make sure there are enough leftovers for lunch the following day. The one-week meal plan I’m showing you is based on 5 recipes that I’ve shared before.
Here’s what a realistic one-week meal plan looks like for my family:
The meals we choose vary from week to week, but this is our general schedule. Once the meal plan and shopping list are done, we make one grocery trip for the entire week.
It does take some practice to make meal planning a habit, but I promise that it’s totally doable and worth the effort!
You can get started by downloading my one-week meal plan calendar and shopping list here (or just click the picture below). I also included blank templates for you to make your own personalized meal plans!
Do you meal plan? How does your family decide what to eat each week?
Talk to you soon!
Great meal plan! I haven’t done it a while and probably should start making it a habit.
Thank you, Natalie! I don’t think I can function without a meal plan now!
I was needing some inspiration for my family meal planning! I love having leftovers for lunch the next day as well. Thanks for the links to some great recipes as well.
Hi Sonja! Thanks! I HATE cooking in the middle of the day so leftovers are a must!
This is a great meal plan! It can be difficult to come up with something new to cook every night!
Thanks, Kristen! It can definitely be hard. I’ll try to share another meal plan soon!
I meal plan my dinners every week. I have found it helps to not have to think about what to have every night and saves me some at the grocery store!
Hi Stephanie! You’re so right! It saves us a ton of money to meal plan like this!
I love the way you meal plan! we do to an extent but it’s more planning what we need from the store and deciding which days. Unfortunately we always leave something off or don’t stick too it completely. We really need to be more disciplined. I love the way you display your meal prep tho!
Thanks, Michelle! We’re flexible if something changes in our plans, but having this outline is so, so helpful!
