Being a busy mom is no longer an excuse for neglecting your health! It’s time for us to start setting a better example for our kids and prioritize our self-care. Part of that means we need to drink more water. You must hydrate your body if you want it to work properly!

But how in the world are we supposed to parent, cook, clean, run errands, chauffeur kids, sleep, exercise, AND make sure that we’re getting enough water every day? I know that it sounds impossible, but it isn’t! Keep reading to see a few changes I’ve implemented to stay hydrated (despite a packed schedule) and find out why Nestlé® Pure Life®+ has become my new best friend!

1. Good Morning

Start your day by drinking water! I go to sleep with a bottle of water next to my bed and the first thing that I do when I wake up in the morning is grab it and drink the whole thing. It’s such a refreshing, natural way to wake my senses up and get a head start on my daily hydration.

2. Flavored water

If you tend to go for juice or soda just because you like the taste, switch to flavored water! Nestlé Pure Life+ has three new enhanced water beverages with a touch of fruity flavor. They’re a yummy, convenient way to help stay hydrated and feed your body specific minerals.

My personal favorite is the Nestlé Pure Life+ active orange flavor because it has potassium to assist with normal muscle function. This is a must for all of the running around I do with my kids each day! If you like lemon and are a little tired, the Nestlé Pure Life+ revive has magnesium that is meant to help reduce fatigue. You can even support normal immune system functioning with the added zinc in the blackberry flavor of Nestlé Pure Life+ protect.

3. Set a Goal

When I was in the seventh grade, I was taught that we’re supposed to consume at least 64 ounces of water each day. As an adult, my doctor has actually advised me to drink more than that. I now know the amount varies depending on a number of factors, including age, level of activity, diet, and lifestyle.

A physician or nutrition professional is the best person to help you determine your hydration needs, but you also need to listen to your body. Learn to read the signs that your body is thirsty so that you can address or prevent them.

4. Proximity is Key

You don’t want to wait until you’re dehydrated to start drinking. Always have water within reach and take sips all day long! If you go outside to play, take that Nestlé Pure Life+ with you. If you’re headed away from your house shopping, bring a bottle in the car. It’s much easier to drink more water if you always have it nearby!

5. Track Your Intake

Drinking enough water is a healthy habit and building habits takes time. As you’re getting started, it may be helpful to monitor how much water you’re consuming by tracking it. You can write it in a journal, download a water tracking app, count empty bottles, or use the rubberband method (start with a wrist full of rubber bands and transfer one to the opposite wrist every time you finish a serving of water). Just pick a visual or tangible way to quickly measure your water intake and be consistent with it.

6. Set Reminders

When you’re occupied with little ones all day, it isn’t hard to get lost in their activities. Use your phone alarm or an app to gently remind you that it’s time to take some sips. You can announce that it’s “water time” to your kids and all take a water and Nestlé Pure Life+ break together!

All of these small changes have been incredibly helpful in my quest to drink more water and have encouraged my kids to do the same. And with online shopping at Walmart.com, it couldn’t be simpler to stock up on Nestlé Pure Life+! Add all of their flavors to your cart and see how delicious staying hydrated can be!
