One of the best activities you can do with a child is art! It’s so simple, but there are a ton of benefits! Art promotes creativity, builds dexterity, and is a wonderful outlet for self-expression. The best part is that you can do art with kids anytime and Dial® soap is always there to help you clean up!

I’m a stay-at-home mom to two little girls, ages 4 and 2, and they ask to do art projects at least once a week. I know a lot of mamas who are terrified to get too messy with their kids and I must admit that I get it. It can be chaotic and stressful, but it isn’t impossible and it’s such a good time! To help our art days go smoothly, there are a few things that I keep in mind:

Give Freedom

The main objective when we do art is to have fun! I let them tell me what they want to make, give them the supplies they need, and then stay nearby in case they ask for help. As long as they are keeping the materials on the table (or at least attempting to), it’s all good!

No Critiques

If you really want to expand your child’s creativity, don’t criticize their efforts. You can instruct their technique (such as how to hold crayons or cut with scissors), but don’t try to change their vision.

You can also help develop your child’s confidence by praising their efforts and displaying their finished artwork!

Embrace the Mess

Kids are supposed to get messy! Making a mess is how they explore their senses and improve their fine motor skills. When they’re done with their art project, you just clean up. For this, we turn to Dial® brand soap!

My girls think that Dial Complete® Foaming Hand Wash is amazing! They love rubbing the foam between their fingers and I love that it actually cleans their little hands. It’s #1 doctor recommended and kills 99.99% of bacteria. We had to get a Dial Complete® Foaming Hand Wash Refill, of course, so that the foamy fun never has to end.

And for bigger messes, there’s Dial® Spring Water® Body Wash! This hydrates your skin while gently cleansing your whole body. Dial® brand soap comes in several light scents, but my husband and I are fans of Spring Water®. It’s an energizing burst of freshness and the perfect way to wash away dirt and grime!

Healthier Futures™

There’s an extra special reason that you should be bringing Dial® soap home: they are partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America®! In case you aren’t familiar with Big Brothers Big Sisters®, they’re an outreach program that strengthens communities through local one-on-one mentorship with children. As a former teacher in an at-risk area of Compton, CA, I’ve witnessed firsthand the way that programs like these can have a positive, lasting impact on kids and the neighborhoods they live in.

Together, Dial® and Big Brothers Big Sisters have an amazing program called Healthier Futures™. The aim of Healthier Futures™ is to educate and instill proper hygienic practices in kids. Empowering children with knowledge is the surest way to equip them for success. With your purchase of any Dial® product, you’re supporting Healthier Futures™ and promoting wellness for kids and families in your community.
